Topaz Video AI 5.1.4

Hello,

In this version 5.1.4, the option to disable the conversion of EXR files import is still not included. This is something we have been requesting for many versions and it still has not been implemented. We don’t believe it would be very complicated to include this option, as it is already implemented for DPX files. The conversion process is extremely slow, causing us to lose many hours before we can work with the images, and for us, it is completely unnecessary. In previous versions, we worked perfectly fine without this conversion and currently, we have had to stop using the software. If this option is not included in upcoming versions, we will have to permanently abandon the software and look for alternatives from competitors. It’s a shame because the software meets all our expectations and just for this detail, we are forced to abandon it.

Best regards.

Tried beta Rhea model and I am not impressed much.
It would be nice to see some diffusion models in next major releases, and of course. sdr/hdr conversion which is on roadmap. brightness/contrast and temperature/tint correction.
Unfortunately proteusv3 model is not optimized in current releases. In some scenarios it gives better results than proteus v4. But is 1.5-2.5x slower than proteus4!
For those who want to experiment:
This github repo

does really nice frame interpolation using diffusion model.

I tried the demo version 5.1.4 and the video files created in the preview are immediately deleted when I select a different preview or the original source.
Is this only the case with the demo version or is it the same with the purchased version? This means you can’t directly compare different settings.

Thanks

It’s a known bug, they are working on it.

There is a “Pro version” referred to in the Settings, but I have not seen a Pro version for sale.

There was supposed to be more information about it in June. They’ve got three days left.

Hopefully they’ve dropped the idea so they can concentrate resources on where they are needed - bug fixes and model updates.

If the preview is still missing, I’d rather use Nero AI Video Upscaler. It performs better than I expected.

I’ll give it a try
Thank you

Why I am getting duplicate files when the render finishes? Once the encode is complete, I get another file with the same name but with random numbers at the end which I have to delete or my drives get fuller quicker if doing lots of conversions.

Not only that, my C drive keeps getting filled with a whole bunch of empty directories as on attached pic. I often read/write to my NAS but still my local C drive gets these random folders.

Am I the only person that thinks that if this software has a bug as critical as deleting previews preventing you from efficiently A/Bing two different settings, that the very next release should fix it? Why continue releasing version with this issue?

Once again, I’m rolling back to 5.0.4.

Exact same thing happens to me; it just flat stops at random points.

When it does complete, it will just start the clip from anywhere within the first 30 seconds of the imported media, and then stop randomly in the midst of the export for literally no discernable reason.

The live preview feature seems to be completely broken!

‘Previews no longer overlap when generating and will fill in gaps instead for optimal performance’
This feature is truly useless. It’s a waste of time. Please remove it immediately.

Multiple previews of the same video should remain separate so they can be viewed individually instead of having the gap between them “filled in.” I can’t think of anyone who ever made two 30-second previews 20 minutes apart and then said, “gee, I wish this was a 21-minute long preview.”
