Topaz Video 1.7.0

I just released Topaz SLP Tuning Launcher v1.0.2, with a number of major new features—including an automatic benchmark-based Autotune system designed to help you objectively measure performance gains and determine the optimal SLP settings for your specific hardware at your desired target output resolution.

Rather than relying on subjective impressions of whether a setting “feels faster,” Autotune benchmarks the different configurations and uses the measured results to identify which settings actually provide the best performance on your machine.

v1.0.2 also addresses the extremely long SLP preflight/loading time that can occur with certain source files. In one of my tests, an FFV1 MKV file that previously took approximately 2 hours just to load before SLP could begin processing was reduced to about 5 minutes with the new faster threaded preflight feature.

That is a reduction from roughly 120 minutes to 5 minutes in this particular case.

Earlier I posted above that I cut out a 32 sec section from a 45minute FFV1 mkv file that took 2hours or so to load by SLP and used my Stream Copy Remuxer app to convert it into other formats and then fed it into SLP to monitor with my SLP Tuning Launcher. This is what I measured with my Launcher:

Input Stock SLP load time load time after fixing
H.264 NVENC 4.52 s 0.76 s
AV1 NVENC 5.16 s 2.28 s
HEVC NVENC 6.58 s 1.02 s
DNxHR 7.65 s 0.71 s
ProRes 12.72 s 1.03 s
FFV1 Intra All 79.84 s 5.90 s
FFV1 80.00 s 6.30 s
