Topaz Video 1.6.1 crashing

logsForSupport.zip (784.1 KB)

running an HPOmen45 285k/64GB/5090 and have the system crashing on export. Have used Topaz Video on this machine for over a year, no issues exporting. Changed 2 things : 1) instead of FFV1 input i changed to ProResHQ and upgraded to 1.6.1. What i am experiencing : Using Iris, export starts & runs a minute, then screens go dark fans are spinning at full speed. Windows Event Report - after forcing shutdown and restart - shows Event ID : 41. I am attaching the last log for your convenience.

Wanted to seek your guidance before starting debugging the issue myself,

Regards,

Ove

Ove, can you grab the system profile report as well and post here or send to me at help@topazlabs.com and I can take a deeper look into this situation?

How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)

ProResHQ is a lot heavier than FFV1 and that could be triggering something in the system when being pushed harder.

Kyle,

as usual, thanks for the quick response ! Attached the file you requested. Just an FYI : i couldn’t resist to do a little research. Throttling the memory to 80% and Max Processes = 1 ( in File / Preferences / Application / Processing ) makes the job run thru w/t crashing. Also slows the processing down.

Regards,

Ove

P.S. Congrats on the sale ! Hope you had a piece of the pie (-;

Glad to hear that helped get the file to process. Most likely the swap to ProRes and 1.6.1 caused a spike in power/temp use that went above what your system was able to handle and forced that shutdown.

Making that max memory change allowed your system to have a bit more headroom to handle the spikes.
