Subject: Topaz Video 1.6.1 crashes immediately after splash screen on Windows 10 / RTX 5070
Hi,
I’m experiencing a consistent crash on launch with Topaz Video 1.6.1 on Windows 10. The app briefly displays the workspace and ‘what’s new’ splash screen, then crashes within half a second with no error message.
Steps taken so far:
- Updated NVIDIA drivers (clean install via DDU)
- Full uninstall and fresh reinstall of Topaz Video 1.6.1
- Cleared all AppData folders (Roaming and Local) for Topaz Labs LLC
- Tested with internet disconnected
- Confirmed model directory is empty (no model files to corrupt)
- Logs folder is empty after crash — app dies before writing anything
System specs:
- OS: Windows 10
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070
- Install location: D:\Program Files\Topaz\
- Model directory: D:\Program Files\Topaz - models\
I have located a crash dump file (Topaz_Video_exe_10296.dmp) which I am attaching to this ticket.
Please let me know what additional information would help diagnose this.
