Topaz Video 1.0.3 - Patch

Speeds pends not really to the scale factor, it’s the pixel ammount of the upscale that affects the speed. At same high 4:3 is faster than 16:9 because there are less pixels. When you do 4:3 to 960p and get about 1 fps, then welcome the 5090 club this is what you usual get and is about double as fast as my second gpu 4070Ti-16GB.

But I recommend undervolt the 5090 to 850mV, by max out card-ram clock into afterburner you loose max 8% fps (2200Mhz gpu clock) compared to factory card, but TDP drop is more than 30%, 200W less power consumption and heat, for me a good deal, this makes the 5090 to the most efficient card and it works very stable at this voltage point.

This update seems quite scary. I think I’ll skip this one.

I hope these bugs and starlight resolution issues can be fixed in the near future.

Does anyone have an AMD Radeon 7900 AI pro? 32GB and 1/2 the cost of a 5090.

Will Topaz video ever support MacOS with starlight and starlight sharp? I know starlight is supported now, but it is absolutely horrible. I just tried it after the latest 1.0.3 update and the original video looks better.

Honestly, do you really think Mac users should pay for the studio subscription while nothing is being done to make your models (Starlight) better for local processing ?

I do not want to use the cloud, never will. Please focus on making the software and models better for all hardware, not just the cloud or Nvidia hardware.

AV1 inputs are still broken (regression). How much longer do you intend to ignore this issue? AV1 inputs cannot be previewed or exported

Hmm, that explains why Starlight Beta works on my 7900 XTX but not my 9070 XT… guess I’ll have to swap the cards back!

Would consider upgrading my 7900 XTX with one of those, assuming Topaz allows us to use 10bit H265 as our preferred output format. Works flawlessly on my 4070 Ti Super and both of my Mac systems, but it’s a total pain to not have this available on my AMD card as QuickTime ProRes video files are HUGE!

Topaz products are known to work best with NVIDIA cards.

In fact, all AI models work better with NVIDIA cards.

Posted from Japan.
After updating to 1.0.3, it no longer starts.
Even when I run the shortcut on the desktop, the process does not start.
My environment is JP, with a 5080Super, AMD9950x, and Windows 11.
I will revert to 1.0.2.

That depends on what Nvidia card and how much VRAM you got. I’m sure my M3 Ultra will smoke many Nvidia cards with large models.

Same here. :frowning:

With the exception of Hyperion HDR. M4 Max & M3 ultra are about 2x speed of 5090 at 1920x1080. I appreciate that’s a bit different, not being an upscaling model. But I find it quite satisfying anyway!

Topaz Video isn’t (at least not yet) compatible with Intel Macs.

You might want to contact support for a refund.

Support for Intel Macs could eventually come in the future, though.
