When I try to quit topaz after returning to Photoshop quit Topaz Studio is greyed out. The popup remains over my image in PS.
There is no Quit button, there is Cancel & OK. Pressing the Cancel or the Red “X” in the top corner will first ask if you want to save your work before returning to PS.
If you are talking about the warning about layers that should not remain after you press Continue or Quit as you cannot get to Studio without choosing one option. Note that the Quit button is Grey, not greyed out.
