Topaz Photo AI v3.3.2 - v3.3.3

Could you repost this here: Compensate for the loss of sharpness due to heat convection / atmospheric conditions

I have a AMD RX 5600 XT GPU (Win 11) which is think is below yours and have no problem with running PAI. I just ran 10 pictures upscaled 4X with face recovery and Lens blur sharpening and it took 2min 10 sec to save all. You state your win 11system can’t keep up with PAI. “my Win 11 Pro desktop (which is AMD and can nowhere in a reasonable amt of time run the latest Topaz AI models)”

Also, am I wrong to believe that Super focus is cloud based? In that case changing the GPU won’t help.

I think @Fotomaker may be referring to Redefine and Recovery.

Yes PnP is correct.

It’s the Redefine & Recovery that takes a very long time for what I’d consider average size mirrorless photos from a crop sensor (not full frame or medium format) camera (Sony and Oly/OM System makes) to process on my AMD RX6800 XT processor PC.

And I’ve had the ‘Cloud’ chomp up 12 credits just on a single image when relying on off computer processing during beta testing (I don’t think it was replenished for my personal work - [subtle throat clearing, hint hint someone]).

The other features you mentioned aren’t real time (aka as fast as equivalent processing is handled in Ps or ACR) but they’re a lot more usable (and therefore useful) than the “creative” models on my PC.

Yes, @Fotomaker was talking about Redefine/Recovery from the Gigapixel app, not Photo AI.

For Photo AI, Super Focus is not could-based, it renders locally and will work offline. However, with remove Tool, they are both generative tools (like Gigapixel’s Redefine and Recovery) and will take time to render locally (more time then non-generative tools like Sharpen/Denoise, etc).

We will launch the Photo AI cloud early 2025, for Super Focus and Remove tool cloud rendering, as an option. Local rendering will still be possible.

@Ange.topazlabs and @Lingyu Why do you have the “Topaz Photo AI Owner” tag behind your names and not something like “Staff”?

Thanks for the reply. Ange also stated that Super focus is local so I guess a very fast GPU would be needed to get reasonable times. In the past they improved the times of new functions so I expect this will improve too.

I was in the hospital for 1 1/2 months in ICU and rehab. I have a very debilitating auto immune disease so I can’t stay on the computer long (maybe 1 hour if not typing). So, I just check in sometimes to see what is happening.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Hoping you’re feeling better! And are still able to create some nice art
you’re talented.

Yes, I do run SuperFocus locally and find it useful. It’s not superfast, but relative to Redefine and Recovery it’s usable with my AMD processor Win 11 Pro desktop PC in much less time than they are,

Depending on the image I’m processing I sometimes mix and match using different features/models from both PAI & GAI (fairly easily in a workflow as Ps plugins); even if I’m not upscaling. So I start thinking of them interchangeably as a suite of digital tools to choose among.

Agreed. AI coloring of black and white photos would be amazing!

FliFlik KlearMax for Photo 2.0.0 does a pretty good job of colorizing black and white photos.

Just heard that that Photo AI sale price for this month has been extended into today.

topazsale

What is the current offer for a one year extension - the price on Sale I mean?

I find it a little bit weird (and sketchy) that while on the automatic extension the special offers are nowhere to be seen. I got my PAI renewed - through the automatic extension thing that was introduced a short while back, and all I get when I want to see the upgrade price is “you already have a subscription”.

So what if - suddenly - there is a very special deal on upgrades that would allow one to top up with yet another year? (I’ve seen examples of people buying more than one year)

I shouldn’t have to cancel my subscription just to see the offer
(I’m kind of tempted to do that anyway now that it’s paid for until November next year, but still)

Topaz is playing marketing games here and it’s annoying. Log out of your account and look at the deals. If you save more by not having a subscription cancel it and go with the deals.

I agree that those who have subscriptions should be getting at least as good of a deal as the best deal without a subscription.

Don’t think you can
Because when you click here (you have to scroll through a looong page to get to it):
image
You get sent to a sign in page, and:

Clicking manage Subscriptions just gives me the upgrade price that I will have in one year (I believe the special offer discount is what I got for signing up during the introduction of the subscription model):

Soo
for lack of better words. I’m kind off “locked in” to one price and at the same time “locked out” of comparing and finding out what would be the best option moving forward.

The only way out of that would be cancelling the subscription

Is there an option to open images as “zoom to fit” in the defaults ? rather than at 100%.

I second that.

Regards.

When trying to open photo Ai from photos app on Mac OS still getting error.

Hi there!

I don’t know if this is the right place for a feature suggestion/request, but since the update which includes the new Lens Blur V2, the kind of photos that would have before automatically been sharpened using the original lens blur now default to LBV2 when applying autopilot.
Unfortuantely - comparing the two - the original seems to do a much better job for me, and as many of my daily tasks require applying autopilot to many images without time to go through and check/compare each photo, this no longer works as well for me.

My feature request is that we can choose to exclude specific sharpening modes from autopilot in the main preferences (e.g. exclude Lend Blur V2) so that the original Lens Blur mode is used instead for that type of blur. thanks!

Josef

This would be much appreciated from me as well!

I would definitely look for a cooling that includes a vapor chamber even though I am not sure if these are in use by some laptops nowadays!
