Topaz Photo AI v2.0.1

You’re right, I also can’t get it anywhere near to what 1.5.4 produced in your screenshot. :frowning:
Can you post screenshots of the exact settings (slider values) used for each model in 1.5.4? And can you also post the full 1.5.4 processed image?

Still getting crashes on 2.0.1 w/ an Nvidia GPU.

Unfortunately, Affinity Photo only supports PS filter plugins, not PS automate plugins. That’s a technical limitation that entirely prevents us from supporting resizing.

Oh no, don’t worry your bugs will be back in the next release :+1:t2:

Looking at the log, it appears it actually installed correctly but while cleaning up some temp files used in case something goes wrong, it failed to delete one of the folders. We suspect there’s probably another installer that is running / didn’t exit correctly, or PS or some other app was opened during the install.

You could try opening cmd as an admin and running this command: RD /S /Q D:\Config.MSI\

Thank you for the quick reply. I’ll contact Serif about it.

I have been attempting to update from V1.5 to V2 on my Windows 11 PC.
It gets halfway through the 750meg download and pops up “This Installation Package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package” Any suggestions? IS there an update download site as opposed to through the app?

Can V2 be installed in parallel with V1 on a Win 10 machine? I have a load of work to do, and V1 is working fine for what I need, but I’d love to try out V2.

Tnx

Ok to bad

Thanks for the quick supply

I’m afraid I lost the exact values with the update, my friend :frowning:

Ok, can’t be helped then…
That’s something I wish was persisted in the saved images in Photo AI (which models and which values). They could write all those values in the picture’s EXIF data.

Good suggestion. Or an external XML file, like the NEF modifications in Capture NX D.

I’ve created a post in the ideas section, feel free to vote for it: Store settings used for image inside EXIF data (or next to image)

Done!

Yes, David, top of this thread is the Win installer. To get there quickly, you can hit “Home” on your keyboard. Up there is also the Change Log for new features & known issues. Good luck.

I suggest you always use the updated installers (typically each Thurs.) from this forum’s product releases tab for Photo AI vs using any in-app update process.

Wow! No offense, but what happened to that pic?

I tried everything in my arsenal (including other programs). Sadly, it was a total GiGo…

One thing I did try that seemed to keep the plaid from “breaking” was to use the PAI ‘Preserve Text’ to paint over the shirt. That helped maintain the integrity of the plaid.

No matter what I tried, there were sparkles and mutations on the upper left part of your forehead, the jeans went berserk with artifacts (ditto for the curtains) & the arms weren’t happy campers either. And I even tried isolating you from the surroundings to see if that wouldn’t melt the programs’ brains as much. Didn’t help.

Sorry…

Hi Anthony,

I just worked with the Ps (2023) PAI Plugin (File > Automate). Win 11.

Hotkeys that worked prior have stopped.

I tried Adjusting Brush Size for Preserve Text using my left/right bracket keys and it no longer works. Only way I could change Brush size (to create a Mask) was with slider.

FYI to troubleshoot. Thx!

Hi Anthony, there was nothing else running at the time as I just started the PC to update Photo AI. And, I am not sure why the D: drive is referenced bin your RD command as there is only the C: drive on this PC and no external drives connected. Note also that the /Q option on RD is dangerous because it will remove any directory in the command that isn’t empty.

It is as Anthony says.

It fooled me too! My first reaction was of a poorly lit night time photo of a head looking right and slightly upwards in, say a town, the dark area at the top and left being hair, bottom left a dark collar or neck… at about 300,000 ISO!

The boundary of hair and cheeks is midway vertically in the AI ‘face box’ and the boundary of the face just to the left of the right hand edge of the AI ‘face’ box. The chin just below the bottom edge of the AI ‘face box’ and edge of neck/collar vertically below that. Obviously if that’s tight crop from the original, everything changes.

Yup, you beat TPAI … and me lol.
