Topaz Photo AI v1.2.10

This is probably due to lens correction. We use lensfun for our lens correction and I’ve noticed a lot of their corrections add a vignette. You can verify this by turning off lens correction in preferences and see if the issue persists. If it’s not lens correction I’d have to debug further with your image.

True, but as you see, their development focus is now elsewhere.

So it’s good news/bad news for Studio users.

Unfortunately, I don’t have another account as far as I know, and also, there is nowhere in the software for me to update the account details without being signed in.

I have owned TopazPhotoAI from v1.0.0 since mid-September 2022, and suddenly it’s now of no use to me.

Use your browser and login to your account on the Topaz Labs main website to see what is the issue, either way if there is a problem with the Email or password you wont be able to login. If it is a problem with your email address contact support at the main website, if it is a problem with your password change it.

Okee dokee - I have a feeling that the problems I am experiencing have previously been identified, but I don’t have the time to scroll through and find them.
Firstly, when I select multiple images at once to edit as .jpgs, the color appears way off on the resulting files, and they are overly blue in Adobe Bridge and Lightroom - but not outside of Adobe.
Secondly, again, with multiple files images selected at once, the masks on my images are shifted, and the resulting output files have “shadow” masks. But this issue is not happening consistently, so I currently don’t have any examples.
Thirdly, when I select multiple files at once to process, occasionally, just one file is picked up by Photo AI. This is a new issue as well.

The first two issues do not occur if I am just running one image at a time through Photo AI.

I am on a MAC with Ventura 13.2.1, and my RAW files are Nikon .NEF, from a Z6ii camera. I always use the workflow of editing my images first by cropping/adjusting exposure, shadows, highlights/tweaking clarity and vibrance, and possibly saturation (although just a tiny bit). Then I normally batch process the .NEF files by issuing the Edit in Topaz Photo AI command from Lightroom Classic (Version 12.2.1), with a JPEG output using the ProPhoto RGB color space at a resolution of 300.

I absolutely love Photo AI, but it becomes too cumbersome to use unless I can get the batch processing to render accurately.

I’ve uploaded the .NEF and .jpg for one of the processed files which is now too blue in Adobe, as well as a screen shot of my view of the file in Adobe Bridge.

220816_6015.NEF (22.3 MB)!

UPDATE: Just now even processing a single photo, the resulting image was overly blue in Lightroom Classic - ughhh.

The authenticating process is TOO SLOW.

It’s useless to have a fast processor and GPU if after generating the preview of the image in 1 or 2 seconds and you still have to wait 5 or 10 seconds for the authenticating process to show the button to save to Photoshop.
Every second matters in today’s life and in the industry, that’s why we use powerful computers, and if a few seconds are wasted for the authentication process everytime we use the plugin for each photo, that’s a BIG NO NO.

And I am able to download about 12Mo/second, so it’s not a bad network …

At least, may be authenticate once per day, not for every single photo. The ideal is that it should be done in matter of milliseconds in the background …

may be, as I raised, it is the authenticating process …
It’s taking too long and major time waster when used as a plugin.
Process and previews are generated in 1 or 2 seconds at most, but the authenticating process takes up to 10 seconds !!
All your efforts to improve your computer to be able to work fast are wasted …

On my example photo, it’s a DNG photo merge from Lightroom to create the HDR. The DNGs are from my Samsung Galaxy S7.
Here is the example DNG from my HDR output photos from Lightroom.

Quick question: what do you think of my retouching of your photo?

Found a glitch/bug regarding face recovery causing lines near the subjects face or hair. I’ve mostly seen this when upscaling AI photos of people but this is the first time I’ve seen it on a real image. Turning down face recovery or turning it off seems to be the solution for now. See images linked for examples.

Guys you are doing a good job releasing updates so frequently. But every update brings with itself new bugs which were not there in previous versions. Bug Report for V 1.2.10 is as follows:- 1. The Standard model of sharpening seems to do nothing. When you click details you find that the strength is set to 1. So everytime the strength has to be increased manually, thus rendering “Autopilot” meaningless. 2. Your Standard model used to be the best in all your softwares (Sharpen AI, Denoise AI, Gigapixel as well as Photo AI). However, in your latest release of Photo AI, the Standard model has become very ineffective. Even if the strength value is raised, at the same value, Lens Blur model is giving the best results. Even Motion Blur model used to be quite good in previous models. That has also mellowed down in this version. I am using only Lens Blur in all my photo editing. However, I did notice that the new Standard Model preserves feather details better than other models. Please maintain this positive aspect of it. 3. Thirdly, in case of multiple images, the filmstrip at the bottom wants to keep the currently selected photo on the extreme right, even if you manually drag it to the centre. 4. Lastly, if the user selects a brush size, the software should remember it rather than resetting to medium everytime. A fix on these issues will be highly appreciated.

I had to re-install Windows 11 but am now noticing that when using Photo AI within Photoshop, my screen flickers lightly and the color all over my screen also changes slightly when Photo AI is in use and my mouse is moved but then the flicker stops when it closes after processing.
Is there a way to stop this?
Photoshop, Photo AI, Nvidia Studio drivers are all the latest versions and I’ve tried changing Auto/CPU/GPU in the Processor AI in preferences.
Card is a 4090 running 5120x1440 resolution at 120Hz and no other programs have this flicker issue.

Ai photo’s raw profile is causing the highlights to be overexposed from the original raw file. This is from a Sony A7 III.
I believe i know the cause, but not why this causes a problem. I have the picture profile set to HLG2.

both images have the exact same settings applied to the raw files. the top image is the original raw.

In cases like these it is helpful for us to have the original files so I can potentially fix profile issues. This thread will be closing in a second but I would appreciate if you could add this RAW file to the dropbox link in the top of the thread or message it to me somehow.
