A comparison of the 3 different Topaz noise reduction apps: AI Clear, DeNoise AI with different ISO levels and Reduce Noise, high ISO
All processing in TopazStudio β for my learning and maybe it could help another Topaz user
Ex. 2 & Ex. 3 are not real good test of DeNoise AI vs. AI Clear because the picture does not have high ISO or low light level. Sony Alpha 6000 picture shot F11 1/800 ISO 640
Ex 1 original picture no corrections
EX. 2 picture AI Clear noise reduce
cropped picture to 4:3 - 3131 pixels 7.1 inches width
AI Clear remove noise - auto, enhance sharpness β low, Ex 2b
Basis Adjustment Black level β 1, white level .61, highlights .32
Dehaze mask bush out bird & grad middle of filter at water level and inverted filter to effect sky
only β strength .28
Sharpen AI in stabilize mode, uses machine-learning to stabilize motion blur in imagine, no
parameters
Ex. 3 picture DeNose AI noise reduce
DeNoise AI pluggin mode in TopazStudio DeNoise AI β remove noise .50, enhance sharpness .15,
recover detail .10, Ex 3a
No cropping feature in this module
cropped picture to 4:3 - 3131 pixels 7.1 inches width
Basis Adjustment Black level β 1, white level .61, highlights .32, cropped picture to 4:3 - 3131 pixels

There are subtle difference on the bird but that maybe cause by parameter choices in the DeNoise AI parameters.
Ex. 5 & Ex. 6 are good test of DeNoise AI vs. AI Clear, in the standalone mode, because the picture has high ISO & low light level. Sony Alpha 6000 picture shot ISO 3200 F/22 1/500.
Ex. 4 picture original picture no corrections
EX. 5 picture AI Clear noise reduce
AI Clear remove noise - high, enhance sharpness β high recover Detail .10, Ex 5a
Basis Adjustment Black level β.47, white level .61
Dehaze mask grad middle of filter at horizon level and to effect sky
only β strength .20
Ex. 6 picture DeNose AI noise reduce
DeNoise AI pluggin mode in TopazStudio DeNoise AI β remove noise .90, enhance sharpness .88,
recover detail .10, Ex 6a
Basis Adjustment Black level β .47, white level .61,
Dehaze mask grad middle of filter at horizon level and filter to effect sky
only β strength .20
Ex. 7 picture Reduce Noise
Reduce Noise β reduce Noise .90, Fine Noise .88, color noise .52, Ex 7a
Basis Adjustment Black level β.47, white level .61
Dehaze mask grad middle of filter at horizon level and to effect sky
only β strength .20
These are just my observations.
There are too many combinations of parameters comparing Denoise AI, Ex. 5, to AI Clear, Ex. 6, and I have no recommendation for high ISO and low light level, but Ex. 7 Reduce Noise is very inferior to either DeNoise AI or AI Clear. My opinion DeNoise AI will take some time for you to develop expertise of adjusting noise and sharpen to get the maximum effect and this is much slower process because the computer has to do who knows how many calculations every time you move a slider and it only works on a very small window of the picture. For most of my pictures, not high ISO or low light, I will run AI Clear first in the auto mode because Topaz developer have greater knowledge of eliminating noise better then myself.
AI Clear in standalone mode of DeNoise has no Auto feature as can be seen Ex 2a vs Ex 5a.
If you have memory on your video card it appears to me that Topaz now automatically uses it. Video memory make a big difference in how long DeNoise runs as I have read in other post. I have 8 MB of memory on my video card when moving the slider it takes like 3 seconds to render the sm
