I am currently using Topaz Photo AI 2.13, though the issue appears in earlier versions. As a Nikon DSLR user, I also use their software in the initial stages of processing a batch of photos. That involves using their NX Studio, configured to pass chosen photos to selected apps for further processing. I have mine set up to pass to Radiant, Topaz and, of course, PhotoShop. The first and the last will allow me to further process a photo and then save it to a location of my choice. Regrettably, Topaz, used this way, wants to pass a processed image back to NX Studio. If Topaz is opened first and then photos are passed to it using its screens, then it is perfectly happy to let me send the photos on to wherever I choose. Why is the save process different if the photos are passed to it from another software package than if it gets the photos through its own screens?
Because processing from another application means it operates in plug-in mode updating the image that is passed.
But I’m using it as a stand alone application!
No you are not, by passing the image from NX studio you are using it as a plugin.
