Topaz Impression has been running fine, now crashes

Hya,

Love this software.
This morning Topaz Impression started crashing as soon as I press presets.

It will load up my image fine and do it’s magic on the first preset, but when I click at the top to change type (eg Painting)
it crashes.

My machine

Win 10 Pro

AMD Ryzen 1700X 8C/16T CPU OC

16G DDR4 Kingston Ram

ASUS 8G GeForce GTX 1070 PCI Express

The machine is a few weeks old. Topaz Impression has been running fine uptil this morning.

Hi, not that I am aware of. But win 10 appears to be pretty sneaky. Actually it was running fine for half an hour then started crashing. A reboot didn’t fix it.

First maybe try a complete shut down and restart (not just a reboot).
Check with the nVidia site that the correct driver is installed.
Win 10 recently ‘updated’ my computer and put in it’s own MS driver (which naturally caused trouble).
I downloaded and installed the nVidia driver and all is fine again.
Why can’t MS realise that they know absolutely nothing about video card drivers?

thanks so much for that, all is well now - it appeared to need a restart rather than a reboot - whatever the difference is…
