Topaz Image Web (browser version): downloaded file is the original image, no upscaling applied — started June 10

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue with the web version of Gigapixel (in the browser), not the desktop app. I want to be clear about that up front, since most threads here seem to be about the desktop application.

What’s happening: the tool goes through the whole process and appears to upscale my image, and it consumes credits as normal — but when I download the result, the file I get back is identical to the one I uploaded. No enlargement, nothing applied. It’s just the original image again.

This started happening on June 10. Before that it had been working perfectly.

I contacted Topaz support and they refunded the credits. Their reply was that the issue was caused by “browser compression” and that they would fix it as soon as possible — but I haven’t seen any public confirmation that it’s actually been resolved.

So I’m posting here to ask:

  • Has anyone else experienced this same problem in the web/browser version?
  • Does anyone know whether this “browser compression” bug has already been fixed?
  • If you’ve found a workaround (different browser, export settings, etc.), I’d really appreciate hearing it.

For reference, my symptom is similar to some desktop reports where the export is just a plain resize with no enhancement — but in my case it’s strictly the web version.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi bambi-4859.

I’m afraid I don’t own an Apple iOS device myself the so, unable to help you with your current predicament

The only thing I can suggest is either trying it again yourself and if it doesn’t work you know Topaz Support will reimburse you for lost credits or perhaps someone from the community who has an Apple device will be kind enough to try the iOS version for you and let you know one or another.

Hope this helps and you’re up and running in no time
