new forum:
I thought it was you that opened it as your OP linked it.
It’s only been removed since my post on here 30 mins ago.
I had already opened the forum, but the software developer friend wanted it to be in the same place, not two different sites, so the forum was opened on GitHub, which is SeedVR2, and moved there, and I deleted the other one.
Thank you!
good to know
Thank you! Will join your new forum!
Did these Cloud Rev vampires delete the old thread? Also, is the latest Seedvr2 version with VAE available to pull down via comfyui directly or is it still in overnight gits?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, they deleted it. I wish they had at least closed it so others could benefit. There’s also a ComfyUI Manager, I think it can be installed directly, I haven’t tried it yet.
Yes, but you can still find it in the web archive.
I have recovered some of my posts here.
The SeedVR2 Version 2.5
has just been released today.
You can now download it through the ComfyUI Manager.
I have written an installation guide on my forum.
Thanks,
I installed it and have been testing it since yesterday, but I get a torch error. Torch won’t start. I’ve installed it in many different formats and tried it, but it still didn’t work. I wonder if it worked for you? If so, what are the settings?
torch.compile failed for DiT: cannot import name ‘check_supported_striding’ from ‘torch._inductor.kernel.mm_common’ (C:\ComfyUI\python_embeded\Lib\site-packages\torch_inductor\kernel\mm_common.py)

pytorch version: 2.7.1+cu128
Enabled fp16 accumulation.

ComfyUI version: 0.3.68
I haven’t encountered the error you mentioned above. However, I did run into some other issues when enabling torch.compile. I managed to resolve them after some debugging.
Since it’s a brand-new release, a few bugs are to be expected. I’d recommend disabling torch.compile for now—it’s not essential, and I didn’t notice the speed improvements they claim.
For further discussion, it’s better to move it to another forum, or this post risks being deleted too. ![]()
I have successfully upscaled 320x240 video to 1704x1280 using SeedVR2 and Starlight as a second step.
Take a look at the samples:

Starlight after SeedVR2:
Another example.

Starlight after SeedVR2:
Geat job.
Starlight isn’t faithful to the original video, so I never use it. After SeedVR2, I use Iris for processing, which gives better results. It’s also faster. And you won’t get plastic faces.
For each new video, click “Estimate” again so it finds the optimal settings for the video. Then, set “Improve Detail” and “Sharpen” to 90. I use “1” for the “Grain Size,” but you can also set it to 2 for larger videos.
Oh no, look at those monstrosities Iris creates:
I don’t use Iris or Rhea because they create such faces when they are at distance.
Only Starlight can recover distant faces, assuming it has proper input from SeedVR2.
How many times do you upscale with SeedVR2? Upscaling at least 4x or 5x gives better quality.
