Testing Starlight on AMD using TVAI 7.2.03b

Hi, I have a new PC AV build I am planning to digitize and restore photos and videos using Topaz products. CPU is a Ryzen9 9950x3d 16 core, RAM is 64GB and GPU is a Radeon RX 9070 XT. I saw the released version of Video Studio does not support AMD for Starlight yet but I am testing with the latest beta version of TVAI. The results are VERY IMPRESSIVE… however the rendering speed is VERY slow (0.1FPS, a 5 second clip takes about 15 minutes to render. However the result is much better than Proteus or Iris models (which render in real time on my new PC). Definitely a big thumbs up to continue bringing Starlight and Starlight Sharp to AMD GPUs. Specifically a really bad VHS playback I had from 1981 enhanced shockingly well, I am so looking forward to improvements to this model on AMD GPUs!

Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear things are going good! Starlight is a diffusion model so it’s expected to take time to process. Starlight Sharp is currently only compatible with Nvidia GPUs with 16GB or more VRAM.

It’s definitely very promising and I am hoping for some speed improvements as the AMD version develops. This is what my GPU status looks like while processing a video in Starlight, CPU shows 8% average utilization with 4 of the cores showing activity from near 0 to 100 in cycles.
