Although pause/resume always had a certain risk of killing your rendering in TVAI, the function was not 100% reliable, and could be also the case when we get this for Starlight mini.
For me having this function is very usefull, but not that dealbreaker if the output process is stable. The user can also contribute to this; don’t do other encodings or things that use a lot of gpu/cpu while an output is running.
That’s why I also use a second computer, it just runs undisturbed nonstop, and I find that very pleasant to work with. I’m even thinking about replace my 4070-12GB card on the second PC, selling it and buy a used 3090 with 24GB VRAM, because for me quality is more important than a little bit more speed on my second PC.
in general I can highly recommend a second computer when intense using Starlight, it does not have to be the very expensive newest hardware. You can put it somewhere where the waste heat and noise level does not bother you and access to the PC via Windows Remote Desktop
Hey, anyone here used drift software before? I’m curious to hear your thoughts—what are the pros and cons? From what I’ve seen, it looks pretty solid for conversational marketing and lead generation, especially with the chatbot and live chat features. It seems like a good tool for engaging visitors in real time and possibly speeding up the sales process. But I’d love to know how it performs in real-world use.
It is still on the list of feature requests that the research and dev teams have for the app. The process that Starlight currently uses is not compatible with the current design of the pause/resume feature in the app. If they are able to work it out for inclusion in the future, we will make an announcement.
