Regarding Starlight: will there be individual starlight setting options for uploaded videos in the future?
Currently there is only the automatic process in high definition.
And how do you go about it: do you always upload the original video that you want to improve or do you run it through some of the Video AI models first and only then upload it to Starlight?
I’m also hoping we get some customization with Starlight. Out the box, it kinda oversharpens/overestores and adds contrast to the image. I need to do a Proteus 2X pass with Dehalo to alleviate some of those problems, but not ideal.
I hope there will be. I had put some credits on it thinking the early paid access was already a full quality render option but it seems it´s the same very low bitrate encoding as the 10 seconds preview renders. Unfortunately it seems we´ll have to wait to be able to render in full quality and with some settings even with the first Beta versions.
Let’s say you have a video that you want to upscale with Starlight, but the render quality leaves something to be desired and the Starlight model still has potential for optimization, then it would be better if Topaz saves your uploaded source video on its servers for a while and gets automatically upscaled again if there happens serious quality improvements. Then you get informed when a improved version of your video exist and you can download it.
I don’t use Cloud, but I imagine something like this from a expensive premium product, gives you a quality progress guarantee for videos that are so important to you and for which you pay a lot of money. These re-upscales when Topaz has made significant improvements to the model, could then auto happen at times when the servers are underutilized
