do you still experience temporal inconsistencies/shifting or changing details every 0.5 or 1.0 seconds in starlight precise outputs?
is there a way to alleviate this problem afterwards?

Interesting, I have not seen it in test runs that I have processed with the model in 1.7.1. Do you have a sample that you can share that shows this? We know we had the issue before in the early releases of the model and this was improved and addressed in a later release, but that is not to say that it might not still be happening depending on the content itself.
I would need see an example to put in front of the team for further review.
to me that looks more like Starlight Precision 2.5 and not 2.6

That does look like the original situation with Precise 2.5, but if you are in 1.7.1 you should only be using Precise 2.6 as it replaced the former 2.5 in the release. If you run it again and get a similar result, grab the logs and post here or send to the support team at help@topazlabs.com and we can look into this further and show the devs.
i think you’re right. today i had time to encode the same short clip and it came out differently with 2.6
