Star Trek - Deep Space Nine Upscaling Project by Leland Kovich(PAL-DVD to 1080pHD in 4:3)

This is a project/showcase dedicated to showing the possibilities of using software based-solutions (including Topaz Video Enhace AI) to restore/upscale the SciFi-Series “Star Trek - Deep Space Nine”.

The source for this project are the PAL-DVDs (european market).

The software/programs involved is/are:

• DVDshrink (extracting raw data from PAL-DVD discs)
• meGui (adjusting audio stream - lower/correct pitch to adjust for PAL-shift towards 23,976 FPS)
• StaxRip (apply various filters to enhance viceo quality and adjust from 25 FPS to 23,976 FPS)
• Topaz Video Enhance AI (3-step enhancement and resolution upscale (various models/parameters)
• DaVinci Resolve (apply various filters to enhance video quality and encode to 1080pHD)
• mkvToolnix (merge video and audio-streams)
• Handbrake (compress/downsize videofile)
