I shoot with a Sony A7R4 in raw so HUGE files. When I try to import a photo to Photo AI by browsing the card in my camera, I get a list of filenames but not a thumbnail pic, which makes it very hard to identify the pic I want to import. I can see thumbnails in Lightroom Classic and read the filename there, after which I can go to Photo AI and import the pic using the filename but that is quite cumbersome and requires me to import the files to LC first when I would prefer to start in Photo AI. Is there any way currently to see the file list as thumbnails and, if not, is there any chance this might be an upgrade soon?

If your on Windows you can get the Raw Image Extension for free from the MS Store.

Unfortunately (at least for this purpose) I am on Apple. Any equivalent?
MacOS doesn’t need a plugin to generate thumbnails for Finder. The A7R4 is on the supported list for native Raw file support. You should just have to enable the thumbnail preview, rather than have it set to show an icon.
