Circling back to let you know that Intel talked to our development team today, and they mentioned that the latest ARC driver update should resolve the issue you have, and you should be able to be on AI Processor AUTO, and not CPU.

I did a clean install of the supplied graphic driver (actually a DOWNGRADE for me, as it was older than my current driver), and tried to run in GPU mode.
Topaz Program took forever to open
Opening images "analyzed for MANY minutes before opening
“Superfocus” in GPU (Auto) mode stills overloads/locks up system.

EDIT - Actually, I need to retract the below as I am running into additional issues with today’s batch of images and had to roll back to CPU in preferences. I’ll keep testing
I’ve been playing with version 3.5.0 using the current Intel ARC driver (6559, which is one WHQL release up) over the holiday weekend. So far it appears to be working with a couple of caveats:
Initial load for the application is very slow, so is loading an image. However I suspect that this is related to the recently introduced Windows 11 bug by Microsoft that is slowing down a bunch of File-Manager/File-Handling issues as Photo AI is not the only application this is happening with. So, for now, this may not be related.
Super Focus Beta has hard-crashed on me twice.
Did some more photography today, I will keep using this setup and see if I run into anything else.
@michael.kohlman - Thanks. The development team released an additional alpha version to test, can you have a look if same results and provide logs if issues remain?
Note: Make sure to uninstall the prior v3.6.0.4b to save space
Performed the same steps as previously, Windows and Intel ARC driver versions are unchanged (ARC 6647 WHQL)
Have processed 4 Sony RAW images so far of various kinds (one forest, one seashore, one portrait, and one wildlife), two of which angered every version of Photo AI after 3.2.0
3.6.0.5a processed images quickly as well. Keeping an eye in the Windows resource monitor it was absolutely using the ARC GPU to process.
Finally, I tried Super focus beta with an older image (jpg), which I was never able to get to work using just the CPU (and it flat-out crashed using the Intel ARC 770) This worked as well. It did max the GPU out (expected), but it also rendered a fairly nice result and was fairly quick.
Included the logs for everyhting but the super focus render as a reference.
I will keep playing with my image library for the next few evenings and unless I run into an issue, will update this weekend.

I relayed the logs to Lingyu and the development team. We are still testing with other users to make sure no other issues remain and then it will be implemented in a official Photo AI version in the near future.
We will circle back here on this forum issue when a Photo AI version includes this fix!
And I will keep testing with this version. If there is a desire to see more “good result” logs, let me know and will share them after I’ve had a weekend to do additional images (weekend warrior when it comes to photography).
Also, (and hopefully understandably) I will wait until a production release before calling this resolved, as I have personally led too many software development projects to make that declaration before release.
But so far v3.6.0.5a seems to work fine with a discrete Intel ARC GPU
