Hi Gene,

Please note that we currently have an open development ticket for the Remove tool issue, and we will update this thread when the issue has been fixed.

As a workaround, kindly revert to the Topaz Photo v1.0.2, and you won’t have this issue with that version.

Windows: Download
Mac: Download
Snapdragon: Download

Anyone other user with the same issue can try the same workaround and reach out to us at help@topazlabs.com if the issue remains.

Problem is still there in 1.02 and 1.01. I have to go all the way back to 1.0.0 before the Remove tool works again.

Thanks for the update and confirmation. This will be relayed to the development team that only v1.0.0 works in your case. We have different behavior with other users, but here is v1.0.0 if anyone needs to revert back to this:

Topaz Photo v1.0.0
Installers:
Windows: Download
Mac: Download
Snapdragon: Download

Remove Tool is working fine in 1.1.1 for me.

I’ve put 1.1.1 back. For now I can do removals in Photo AI.

Hello there,

Circling back, as we had your contact information on a development team ticket for an issue with the Remove tool.

We released today Topaz Photo v1.6.0, which fixes the new Remove Tool v2. You can install this version from your in-app updater (top right) or with the direct link that is suitable for your machine:

Topaz Photo v1.6.0 -

  • Snapdragon: Download
    Apple Silicon Mac: Download
    Intel Mac: Download

  • Full Releases Notes

  • Once on v1.6.0, ensure to be in AI Processor on Auto in Edit > Preferences > General > AI Processor. Being on Auto AI Processor will use your full machine capabilities.

When you are able to test Remove Tool v2 on your machine, can you let us know if any issues remain, and we can let the development team know. Make sure to share:

  • Details on the issue that remains

  • Screenshots if you get any errors
