hundert times in the log is “Your platform doesn’t support hardware accelerated AV1 decoding”
what that means I don’t know, Topaz Labs should it know, here is a source about that
This is a known issue with AV1 that the team is working on resolving. You will need to convert your input to a different format and container and bring it back into the app.
You can use a tool like Handbrake and then re-importing the converted version back into the app for processing.
2. I recommend going to the “dimensions” tab and under “resolution limit” > none
3. I also recommend going to the “video” tab and under “framerate (FPS)” > Same as source
4. Then click “start”
This will ensure that it retains the original resolution and frame rate with the converted file.

There is a currently known issue with AVI files being read correctly by the app that the team is working on addressing.
While they do this, the recommendation is to convert the videos using Handbrake to a different codec and format and bring back in for processing.
The problem is that this program The problem is that this program destroys the quality of images when converting from AVI to MP4 for example 1The program (Shutter Encoder) is the only one I liked the way it works with files. I think it’s one of the most comprehensive programs I’ve seen.
It lacks some power It lacks some power, but the quality is quite good.
But every time you do a process, you usually lose details of the video in each conversion.
To be able to do it with him Being able to do it with yours in one go would be the best option to maintain the maximum purity of detail.
I hope you can achieve this and solve the problem. I hope you can solve the problem as soon as possible.
You can use Shutter Encoder or Media Encoder if you want to. Handbrake is easier for more users but it doesnt have to be that app.
Either way converting the video from AVI is needed at this time for the Video app to be able to process it.
Once the team gets that issue resolved and we can support AVI files again then this step wont be required any longer.
What about using the Topaz Video CLI?
Or is it Topaz’s modifications to ffmpeg which is the problem? I would think it most unlikely the standard ffmpeg can’t handle these files.
Thanks.
Andy
Well, ffmpeg for sure can do this - as otherwise handbrake (that uses ffmpeg) wouldn’t be able to, either.
