This beautiful red Dragonfly wouldn’t move while we were removing weeds and it wasn’t until I processed that I saw it had a bead of eggs around the waist so it must have been in the process of laying them.

These are parasite eggs (I think mites). Dragonflies lay eggs from the “end” of their abdomen, in water.
