Hello,

Marking this as the temporary solution while we investigate

This will occur for now if you have both Photo AI and Topaz Photo installed.

You may get the Photoshop error: Cannot open Shared Memory for params or crash or stuck behavior.

You can uninstall Photo AI and only keep Topaz Photo (no AI in naming) and it will fix the issue. If you want to keep both apps, you can use Topaz Photo as a standalone. We will circle back here once a fix is found by the development team.

Hi Ange, How would that work? I thought when we run the installer it automatically puts relevant components into Ps folders/directories for the plugin.

I assumed something in the Photo code is what caused the conflict that produced the error that prevents Photo AI from launching. B/c PAI wouldn’t launch in Ps on my Win 11 system either; with Photo installed.

Are you saying we can’t use perpetual PAI plugin in a Ps workflow for processing if Topaz Photo is installed on the same computer? I guess I’m confused how to segregate them if both are installed. My processing workflow is all Ps. And, I wanted to keep both products active for comparison & best of each’s features choice.

That is the current issue yes.

Both apps installed will have plugin issues which our development team is looking into. This is related with How PS processes plugins and we are looking for a workaround and fix. In you case, since your workflow is solely PS, you will have to uninstall either TPAI or TP.
