Hi everyone, next time I will focus mostly on producing short form video for YT shorts (mostly 45-60 seconds). My workflow combo is combining Pr for editing & Topaz Video AI for enhancing. I don’t plan to do this forever, after 4-6 months I will outsource mostly so if I have to buy a new one now, does the M4 Pro suitable for it?
I know Macbook is not a good candidate to work with Topaz but with short videos like me I think it can be okay, right?
With videos that short the GPU speed doesn’t really matter much, yes. And heat shouldn’t be a big issue, either.
Even if you’d only get 3-4 fps a 60s video is rendered in max. 10 mins.
BUT you can only use Starlight mini on NVIDIA GPUs at least at the moment.
Which is for me the major disadvantage here of my Mac Studio vs. the PC with RTX4070.
Thank you for the thorough reply! I got the point, and I think I’ll stick with my MacBook Pro for now, consider using the cloud rendering feature, and possibly build a strong PC setup based on how things go over the next few months.
Hopefully, the Topaz team will roll out more optimizations for Mac users too!
