Topaz was working perfectly fine for a few days and then it just stopped upscaling. I’ve changed every parameter you can think of. Has anyone had this problem before?
The Upscaling doesn’t work for me when I use the Starlight model.
The output video has the same resolution as the input.
Upscaling works with all other models.
Video 1.1.0 with AMD Radeon.
Maybe try the 1.0.0 version.
On AppleSilicon it’s similar, the wanted/set output resolution is vastly ignored in all those later versions making Starlight mini barely usable.
In 1.0.0 it mostly works there - so maybe it’s the same with AMD?
1.0.0 crashed while exporting.
Basic functionality keeps breaking in an expensive professional subscription based application. ![]()
I have the same problem with Starlight Mini on an AMD Strix Halo 395+.
I can’t use an older version because Starlight Mini on AMD Strix Halo only works on this new version 1.1.0. → On 1.0.4, it does crash.
Can you pull the logs and share with the support team for investigation? help@topazlabs.com
To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.
Did so.
I received an email from Topaz Labs Support recommending that I (lossily) convert the AV1 source file to H.264 using HandBrake and then try again. Unfortunately, that didn’t help. When I select Starlight as the upscaling model, the output file retains the same resolution as the input. All other models upscale as expected and work flawlessly.
This is being actively looked into by the devs and the logs you shared along with others are being reviewed in the situation.
Starlight Mini is working on AMD Radeon since 1.1.1.
Now I found out that Nyx XL is also keeping the input resolution in 1.1.1. ![]()
