I’m wondering if there is a bug in the program. I have been remastering SD DVDs to HD Blu-rays for a few months now and I’ve encountered a really weird glitch. I just started remastering the 90s series Profiler and the first season remastered fine just like all the other videos I have done but all the other seasons in this series for some reason have gotten output files missing the video track. Every video file remastered after this series using the same settings has turned out perfectly. I doubt it is a source video file issue since the files all play fine and have the exact same specs as the first season. See MediaInfo screenshots attached for the comparison of the source files. I am using a Mac Studio 2025 w/ M3 Ultra 96GB of RAM and Tahoe 26.5.1 and running Topaz Video 1.6.1. All my videos have been remastered using the Proteus AI with mostly the default settings for FHD. The only thing I have changed is setting the Add Noise to 2. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the missing video?

Hi,
Thank you for looking into this for me. Here is the latest logs. I just hope it shows the older attempts at encoding the files I mentioned. I’ve already started a different show so I don’t know if that erases the old data. If so let me know and I will quit my current encodes and redo the problem files and make new logs.

I’ve just uploaded the files as requested. Thank you for looking into this mystery. I’ve sent you 4 files, Profiler Season 1 Episode 1 - Insight and Season 2 Episode 1 - Ambition in the Blood with their respective Proteus FHD output files. It is the Season 2 Episode 1 - Ambition in the Blood_prob4.mp4 that didn’t get an output with video for some reason. I figured having the first season original file and it’s successful remaster _prob4 for comparison with the second season files may help you find what is going wrong.
