New Topaz gigapixel 8 hangs up

I’ve just puchased an update to Gigapixel 8. Instead of the old version 6.x it doesn’t work anymore on my system. Both, preview and saving an image start working, but then stop on a point and there is no progress any more. I tried several times, have deleted old files with CCleaner, restarted the system - no change.
My system has to be strong enough, its win 10 with latest updates, i5 processor from october 2022, 32 GB RAM and UHD 770 grahics. The old Topaz version were working quick and without problems, even on my former system.

I have exactly the same running 8.0.1 on my M1 Pro MBP.

I’ve contacted the Topaz suport and they recommended me to uninstal version 8 and reinstall version 7.4.4 … I don’t think, that’s a good solution if they sell version 8 what I have paid for.
There was an interesting aditional information which could help: “The Redefine AI model is still in Beta, there are some known issues with processing time. Recover is only intended for images less than 1000 pixels”
For me that means, that the interesting part of the new release doesn’t work properly.
That’s not what I have expected with all the good experiance with Topat software in the past.
Let’s hope that they will fix the bugs soon.

New using this program but have not seen it complete an image yet. Been processing for 2 days can pause and restart but will it ever complete processing and save a completed job?
Where do we go for a refund?

I’m not a supporter of Topaz, but they write “just reach out and we will start the refund process” on their site → Topaz Labs | Gigapixel 8™ | Super scale any image with AI. Like magic. … I think if you write an e-mail you will succeed.

The basic fuction of Gigapixel - upscaling - work without problems on my system and the results are impressive (I use Gigapixel for several years now).

But interesting for me are the models recover (working only with very small images onto 1000px says the support) and redefine - that for I purchased the update. After reinstalling the software and trying redifine with a small resolution image (640x980px), I’ve got an result after some hours now. In my opinion the result was ok, but the processing time is very much to long. And if I want to proceed an image with several Mpx I’m afraid that I have to wait a week or more. That’s not acceptable. Or Topaz has to write in their description of Gigapixel that we need to have a high end workstation to use the software.

hopeless with v8 … I am even having issues with 7.4.4 now…
what is going on ?

I’ve hoped to get any help or suggestions here in the community. But I can see, many others have problems too. I’m in contact with the support now and they will answer within 24 hours. If I have a final result, I will post it here.

It keeps crashing and I am unable to work on my projects. I hope they fix it quick.

Hopeless for me too. I have a new, fast system with all drivers up to date, all old versions worked fine but my newly purchased vs 8.0.2 hangs indefinitely with the message ‘initializing’.

I have written to support asking for a refund, I will update. I don’t see any fix here unless I have missed it?
