Just started using Topaz Video with my Mac Studio, which is an M4 MAX with 128GB of unified memory with a 40 core GPU. The test input clip was a 50 second clip that is 2560x1440, 60FPS. I just did a 4K up convert and the software selected the Proteus model. Just the “defaults.” According to the timer, it was gonna take 20 minutes to convert. I guess I expected better performance then 2 or 3 FPS…anyone have an idea of what might be going on here?
I also found this in Settings. Thought “Founding” members got the Pro option as a “thank you.”?
I don’t work for Topaz and I’m not a video person so, don’t take this as the definitive answer by any means.
I believe Founder Members who wanted Multi-GPU Support were offered a PRO Studio Subscription until their current Subscription Auto-Renewed or they Subscribed to the PRO Subscription.
I would suggest having a word with Topaz Support who are a very helpful bunch of people about converting from your Founders standard version Studio Subscription to a PRO version
Brian, if you have not reached out to the support team yet about your account, please do so and we can take a look at things.
For the performance aspect, the devs are constantly working on improving it as they can. Upscaling to 4k with a file that is 60FPS can be a bit and that will slow down performance on the system. Did the file take the full 20 minutes to export or did it speed up a bit after getting started?
