Steve, quite often I go in to studio and just see what presets are available (look in new category to start) and see what I like and what I don’t need and what I could add.
this is going by the naming of my image (well the shorthand I use anyway
For image 1: presets possibly named, muted grunge, snowy winter night, pencil line (in soft blend mode), then I used the original image which was shot in selective colour in camera, as a color blend to bring back the purple - slightly reduced opacity.
For image 2: I used pencil line preset in luminosity blend mode and also I think a preset called barrys Cmon65, did some masking.
Not for these images, but I have done some short videos showing how I use Topaz Studio to create some images on a YouTube … it might help
