Improved Auto Crop: Multi-Frame Analysis and Better Toolbar Placement

Having gone through a a lot of videos in the last couple of weeks I’d like to make a couple of suggestions about how cropping is set up:

  1. The auto crop is very useful but only picks up black bars. This could be made more useful if it scanned forward and back a few frames (or picked a few keyframes) and analysed them to see what hasn’t changed at all, and included all of that in the auto crop guess. E.g. it would be able to pick up black bars at the sides, and some noise areas top and bottom of a PAL or NTSC frame.
  2. Move the auto crop button to the right hand side of the toolbar, next to the tick and cross icons. This would drastically reduce mouse travel when working with a large number of clips, as I found myself clicking Crop, mouse all the way to the left to Auto Crop, mouse all the way to the right to click the tick.
