I'm confused - is Gigapixel totally replaced by TopazPhotoAI or not?

Just read that Gigapixel 7 is coming next year. I thought that all the specialist apps had been subsumed into PhotoAI (and so I uninstalled them from my Mac). Am I wrong? Does Gigapixel do a better enlarging job than PhotoAI? And if so should I reinstall Focus/Sharpen, etc?

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

No, there is Gigapixel 7 coming out next month.

I find Sharpen AI is still better than PAI.

Thanks for the info.

I also just found an early-2023 review that claimed Gigapixel was slightly better than PhotoAI. I have been using PhotoAI for noise/sharpen/enlarge on scans of old (1980s) transparencies and it’s really helpful.

Since my Gigapixel update sub ran out in October, I’ll wait for the new Gigapixel before buying another year’s support.

I think they will just update it.

Bc many people cry for Gigapixel and dont know what PhotoAI is.

I think its just about the name, not the software.

Gigapixel sounds more important.

PhotoAI sounds like a general photoeditor.

Thanks for the info.

Not everyone has PAI. PAI does not work on some older software or file types, when using upscale.
