Hyperion 2.5 & ACES

Hi Team,

First time posting. Trying to use Topaz Hyperion 2.5 with 16 bit half float output in a professional project.

I am then doing some colour retouches in Fusion.

The documentation says that 16-bit half-float EXR uses ACES2065-1. However when i inspect the meta-data of any individual EXR after downloading it says Linear Rec.2020

Using OCIO Color Space Node in Fusion If i set source to ACES2065-1 and output space to SRGB it looks quite red. When i choose Linear Rec.2020 it looks more accurate to the original.

However, regardless of which one i choose the lighting still very blown out and crunchy i have to adjust this by using a colorcorrector node and reducing the gain substantially.

Note that I have also used output space as ACEScg and just done the SRGB display transfrom in the view settings as well with similar results.

So my questions are these:

  1. What is happening to the ACES2065-1 color space to make it change to linear Rec.2020? Am i downloading incorrectly from the website? Is a colour transform being applied twice in the back end by mistake?
  2. If it isnt a problem with the outputs and instead a problem with my setup id love to know what my issue is because I have worked with this workflow in our team for years now doing CGI.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Keith
