How to use multi-GPUs?

I’m running 7.1.4, and I am unable to use both GPUs that I have installed. I have a RTX3080 and an RTX 4060Ti installed in my PC. Both video cards are working and functional and recent drivers (591) are installed. I know that both cards are working, as I have rendered on both cards using other applications. I have tried all different permutations in the preferences. I have selected “ALL” , I have selected both GPUs under “Multi-GPU”. TVAI only ever uses the RTX4060Ti. I’m not trying to load balance one file across both GPUs. I just want to batch process, one file on the RTX3080 and one file on the RTX4060Ti. I am confirming the GPU load by using nvidia-smi and GPU-Z. If I go in and select “Single” and select the RTX3080, it still does not use that GPU. It only ever uses the RTX4060Ti. I have tried different PCs and still have the same issue. I must be missing something obvious, right?

Do you have the display attached to the 4060?

I read somewhere that Topaz always uses the GPU that has the primary display attached to.

If that was true maybe you could trick TV with opening two instances and switch the display connection in between?

And (also from reading as I don’t have a dual GPU system myself) multi GPU support seems seriously broken in TVAI in general..

Thats a good point. I have a monitor on the RTX3080 (which is the gpu that is not used). I do not have a monitor on the RTX4060ti (which is the GPU that is used). I will switch them around and see if that changes anything.

In version 7.1.4 multiple-gpu processing requires a Pro license to the app for use. Can you send the logs to the support team so we can review what is going on with your system? help@topazlabs.com

Good luck with mixing Ampere and Ada Lovelace architectures, even more with different amount of VRAM.
I don’t give the driver much of a chance.
