I am confused am I allowed to get topaz for free?

Yes, No and it Depends
Topaz currently have two versions of their Software which are the Desktop Applications, Separate Cloud App, or a selection of Desktop and Cloud Apps bundled together as Topaz Studio
Desktop Applications:
The Desktop versions are downloaded on to your computer and aren’t Free and there’s no free trial the Desktop versions are Subscription either Monthly or Annually

If on the other hand, you’re an Apple person Topaz offers a iOS version of Gigapixel which does allow you to try it for free.

Having said all that you can download the previous versions Topaz Photo AI, Topaz Gigapixel AI and Topaz Video AI you won’t be able to purchase these applications as they have been discontinued however, they do have a free trial which you can download the legacy version from the Release pages
