It would be good if the h266 codec were implemented in the future, as it offers high compression without so much loss.
If I remember correctly, H.266 is better than AV1 in every way except for device compatibility. Nothing supports it. They never figured out the licensing for it.
It’s better in metrics compared to AV1 but the final quality is vaseline / blurry.
It may be because of that and the license has not been fully implemented, such as av1 but it is a good idea for 360º videos or very heavy videos
