Gigapixel v7.1.3

Removed GPAI 731, reinstalled. Downloaded 99 models. No change, still doesn’t use the external GPU. LMK if there’s something else I should try. I’ll start a ticket with support.

Sorry to hear that Michael - yes please open a ticket with the support team.

Excuse me, my subscription for gigapixel ended on 1st May, am I still entitled to download and install the current update?

I’ve been using giga pixel 7.1.1 and it crashes all the time while using it as a plug-in through Photoshop. It never did this before but now I’m crashing every time.

You will be able to download the app most likely but would not be able to activate your account until the subscription is updated.

If you have any issues with this though, you can set up a Support ticket with us and that way we can communicate directly to correct this.

The crashing could be caused by several different things.

Are you using large files (tiff or RAW) in the plugin and upscaling it to a larger size? Please note that the max upscale that you can do through the Photoshop plugin is 30,000pixels on its longest side.

You can also verify that the crash is an isolated incident. Try using a much smaller image and see if you can use the plugin successfully.

If it is still crashing you can set up a Support ticket with us and that way we can communicate directly to troubleshoot the conflict together.

As the OP had a valid licence until 1 May and the then current version was 7.1.2 (until 7.1.3 was released sometime that day) they are entitled to all updates up to 7.1.xxxxx. A new licence won’t be required until 7.2.0 is released.

Bug in the Windoze 11 download - error program for which the download is to be installed is not on your computer (it is). Something with the installation checksum.

I got the same error message (sadly I don’t remember the exact wording).
This happened when I updated “in-app”. I then went and downloaded the installer from the link on top of this page and had no problem installing.

I’m on Windows 10

The two latest updates (7.1.2, 7.1.3) for Gigapixel will not install from within the program on a Windows 10 machine. The updates need to be downloaded manually and installed in sequence. This is the first time I have had a problem with a Topaz update download.
There was an error message saying the current version 7.1.1 could not be updated.

hello,

I just installed it on my laptop (upgrade from 6.3.3)

After finishing all downloads it refuses to start. I even rebooted my laptop. Also, I tried to re-install. It made many checks verifying the downloaded models with no issue.

At least 6.3.3 worked!

Lenovo Legion I7 - 9750H CPU 32GB RAM NVIDIA GTX1660Ti
Windows 10 22H2.

Latest test was to run as Admin with no result. Also I do see any information in Windows Application, Security and System Event Logs.

Direct upgrades from version 6 to version 7 has caused issues for others.

I would recommend uninstalling and then reinstall using the installer from the first post of this thread.

hello,

I used TopazGigapixelAI-7.1.3.msi as installer so the same one. Regarding uninstallation Windows reports 6.1.0 which fails to uninstall when instructed to. The reason it that the new topaz has been installed in the same directory after removing the previous files. There is no uninstall.exe now.

If you try to uninstall 6.1 from the control panel you should just get an option to remove the entry since the uninstall.exe doesn’t exist now.

If version 7 was installed over version 6 you should do a complete uninstall of version 7 and delete the Gigapixel program folder if it gets left behind before reinstalling.

If you can’t uninstall version 7 then you will have to manually delete the program.

What are your machine specs…? my machine is at the low end of the specs so I have no problems…What is running in the background of your machine…?I turn most things off after installing OS…

Is this the recent beta release…Because my beta version has not gotten an update 7.1.0.4b

it seems that your suggestions - which proved correct by the way, thanks! - coincided with me uninstalling and deleting everything. After that I installed and downloaded everything and it worked (after activation). I had thought about it but I was hesitant at first due to the amount of files that have to be downloaded.

If you’re looking for an explanation of what the product does and is used for, here’s one explanation by someone who’s not a Topaz staff person - he’s a photographer:

You didn’t state what type of art you create or what you’d hope to achieve with it. "Better"is a very subjective term … and, as with all art, is in the eyes of the beholder.

BTW, Topaz also has a “Getting Started” guide - if you’re looking for intro info:

The product works with various types of 2D art in digital form … photos, prints, paintings, drawings, illustrations/graphic design, etc.

Current version seems a little slower, last version processed in 19 seconds 7.1.3 took a little over 30. Tiny 200x300 image 4x. Faces are a good likeness of actual persons. Recovery model worked well.
