Announcing Gigaprint™ with WhiteWall

You can now order prints of your photos directly from Gigapixel’s new Gigaprint™ mode. We’re excited to announce our partnership with WhiteWall to provide the highest quality prints possible with Gigaprint, and to deliver them to Topaz Labs customers around the world.

Gigaprint will allow you to get the highest quality print possible at up to 406 PPI, with a high degree of color accuracy and pixel-perfect upscaling to match the final printed size and medium. We send the upscaled image directly to WhiteWall, and after a quality check by the photo lab it goes straight to the printing production line without alterations, file conversions, or further upscaling.

With Gigaprint, you can first determine the best upscaling model and settings in the Edit mode, and then switch to the Gigaprint mode to select your size and create an amazing print.

Print Assistant inside Gigapixel’s Gigaprint will help you get the best quality print possible. The print assistant allows you to preview the simulated colors of your printed image on your monitor, auto-upscales your image to the right dimensions, checks for a high quality print resolution, and visualizes out-of-gamut areas of your image. In the preview window, the image shown is soft-proofed using WhiteWall’s production-ready ICC printing profile. This allows you to view the colors of the final image for maximum accuracy.

Gigaprint is available all around the world! You’re able to select your shipping country, and to pick from print sizes based on your location in either inches or centimeters. There’s a number of sizes available, and we will be expanding the available print options in the future!

Gigaprint™ Your Photos on Acrylic

We are launching Gigaprint™ starting with their ultraHD Acrylic Photo Paper option. This is a stunning Fuji Crystal Professional Archive Maxima photo paper set under 1/16" of acrylic glass and backed by aluminum rails. When you open up the box, you’re going to be impressed by the results.

All prints are currently shipped flat and pre-assembled with WhiteWall and Topaz branding and in sturdy packaging to protect your prints. They will arrive super fast, generally in less than 9 days via air freight straight from the production line.

Lastly, every Gigaprint comes with a sturdy aluminum rail backing for easy hanging of even the largest prints.

There’s more coming from the WhiteWall and Topaz partnership, so stay tuned!

Gigaprint™ FAQs

Will you offer more printing options other than the acrylic photo paper prints? Yes, but for the holiday season only this option is currently available.

Will you offer more printing sizes? We currently offer a limited selection of print sizes for different aspect ratios. We’ll be adding more size options soon. If you think there’s a particular size we should add - please let us know in the comments or email us at prints@topazlabs.com

Is Gigaprint available in my country? Check out the list of supported countries here.

How much does a Gigaprint cost? Do you have a pricing list? You can view all the pricing by selecting a size in the app, or by checking out the pricing sheet here.

How does the print come packaged? The quality of the packaging provided by WhiteWall is excellent. Depending on the size of the print, there will be a wooden frame, bubble wrap, and packaging foam with corner protectors to prevent any damage to your print.

Will you offer refunds for Gigaprint? No, since we are working with a third party to provide this service, we cannot offer refunds for Gigaprint orders. This includes upscaling artifacts, so please make sure to examine your print preview prior to ordering. However - if there’s an issue with your print such as damage during shipping, please reach out to us at prints@topazlabs.com so we can help.

Do you keep my printed file? Only temporarily. We will store your print image for up to 7 days after which it is automatically deleted from our system. During this time, only our support team and WhiteWall’s print team can access your image for production purposes. Your uploaded image will not be used for any other purposes and will never be used for training our AI models.

Which file formats are supported? JPEG, PNG, and TIFF files are supported by Gigaprint. We recommend printing using TIFF files for the best results.

What’s the shipping time? Prints will generally arrive within 9 days via air freight, string from the production line. Please make sure to place your order by December 16th for your print to arrive in time for Christmas.

What’s Next for Gigapixel?

This release marks an important milestone for Gigapixel.

It’s been an incredible year for Gigapixel. We launched 2 new generative AI models this year with Recovery and Redefine. We launched the Text & Shapes model and Low Res v2, Face Recovery v2, Cloud Rendering, Gigaprint, and more! Going all the way from Gigapixel 6 to Gigapixel 8, we re-introduced comparison mode and even enabled upscaling in high colorspaces up to ProPhoto.

But there’s still so much more left to do.

Next year we’re going to expand your ability to get incredible upscaling results using Gigapixel. You can expect major updates to performance, quality, and stability, especially for our newer models and features such as Redefine and Cloud Rendering.

We will share more information in an upcoming roadmap post, but expect to see more exciting new AI models and capabilities, as well as some long-requested quality of life and workflow updates to the application.

Stay tuned for more!

I am sorry to say that the serious issue with Gigapixel refusing to process the Image after making changes to the settings persists. :pensive:

This is the same issue like described before and shown here:

Thanks Imo, sorry to hear that. We’re taking a look at this one. We’re also tracking down a similar issue with prompts sometimes not taking effect on subsequent renders.

Good news! The Topaz people are still there, ha! By popular demand I will spare you a visual…

Bad news! Redefine is still pretty unusable on Mac (M1 Ultra Studio 64GB in this case). I’m onto my fourth 6X render on the PC (with 4090 and the 8.1.0.5 beta) since starting the Mac test, and the Mac is still only at about 20%…

Anyone else having issues updating to 8.1? Have 8.03 and it’s telling me that I need to upgrade but looking at my account right now and I renewed Nov 25th. It let me update to 8.02, 8.03 without any issues.

Hmmm. I’m not sure if related, but the authentication system on our site is bogged down at this exact moment. Our team is working on it as we speak. You may want to check again in a few minutes.

If you renewed in November of last year then your 1 year of upgrades is expired though from the sound of it. 8.0.2 and 8.0.3 were patches that are included for free if you owned 8.0.0.

Nope. Last month. Shows next payment/good through Nov 25th 2025.

For what its worth the site is VERY slow.
CleanShot 2024-12-11 at 20.44.10

Ah yeah then it definitely could be related to our authentication issues right now. Sorry about that! :frowning: I’ll pass a note to our team to check on the upgrade flows too.

Site issue should be resolved in the next 10 minutes here.

Yeah, I logged out of the app and trying to activate it now I get a hard site error just trying to load.

Gotcha - the issue is being resolved, try again in about 10 minutes here, it looks like the queue is almost finished on our backend and things should return to normal shortly.

Thanks. No problem. Just noticed there was an update…

Could you please release a hot fix to resolve issue with Redefine on Mac** (0 CPU/GPU usage)strong text, this was introduced in 8.0.3. redefine in 8.0.2 worked on M1 Max (there were periods of no resource usage but with 8.0.3 it became fully unusable for redefine).

Thank you in advance.

Working now.

Still no face recovery fix? :sob:

This:

… and this:

… together with the fact that you can’t trust Redefine not to spit out either another random science experiment/freakshow or needing the user to invest loads of time and/or involved other applications (I really liked the Red Panda stuff, but it involved way to much work for me to be useful) is why I’ll probably won’t be following this thread that closely. It’s like the Redefine have a “Surprise me in any way you can!”-command hardcoded into the render button of the module.

My renewal comes up mid February and I really hope I’ll get the chance to read a changelog a bit more exciting (more directed towards actually making pictures bigger and also improving them) before then…

And Gigaprint? We are all different, but that just feels like another service (besides the cloud render) that I’ll just ignore.

Can not output larger than 12000 px.

2 is more “creative” than 3.

At the moment it is a random, unpredictable, something creator.

I don’t enjoy using the software because of the effort involved.

It takes two hours to turn a single image into a usable one, and even then I’m not satisfied.

Although the result is better than the old upscaler models.

I suspect that my main problem is that the redefine model imposes its style on me.

But the thing is that I don’t want my pictures to look like those of others.
The style I use in photography, the preset as you would call it, has been in development since 2017 and it is growing with the possibilities that Capture One offers me.

At the moment I’m still stuck on the statement a programmer made that the redefine model would look very natural at 3x magnification, but that’s way beyond the 12000px with my images.

I also imagine that there should be a version that is not so “CREATIVE” and therefore runs faster.

At the moment I’m experimenting again and what I see in the preview doesn’t look bad at all.

I also find the idea that I can stop the creation process interesting, to get a more imperfect image, so that there is noise from the creation process that I can then remove with PhotoAI, for example.

Tile problem has not been fixed.

What I also wonder is, the larger an image gets, could it be that it plays less and less of a role that the model knows what to create, but that it is simply more important that the pixels are refined?

Try DDU to remove the whole driver, including physics (physics is cuda and maybe related to AI).

Reinstall the actual Studio driver.

DDU and re-install the driver has never changed anything to me unfortunately neither did using the studio driver instead of the game ready driver. :pensive:

preview - close to great.

result - now it has melted.

Recovery has already changed the whole lighting situation, redefine changes it again.

In the end the picture looks like it was taken on a cloudy day and then the sky is replaced and at the end the light is adjusted so that it looks like the sun was shining.

Can you see the gradient around the church?
I can see this again and again at different positions when redefine creates images.
Edited via photoshop swap sky (i did not care about the quality).

Edited via Luminar neo - Here the house (fist two images in this post) no longer plays a role or any detail because it’s all about the effect of the sunset.
And you can slowly see the effects that redefine also inserts.
I did not care about quality here too.

Original

That’s how the whole thing looks to me.

So, I’ll continue right here so that Topazlabs also understands what I see.

I have bought a set of presets.
Because I knew that the creator doesn’t give a fuck what the pictures look like in the end.
This person has an extremely large number of followers (in the millions) and is also a brand prophet for various large manufacturers.

In comparison, you can see an extreme example of how images look that are made for instagram and are meant to sell presets and a workflow that is meant to improve an image and not make it worse.

Here I would like to emphasize the sharpes halo, the white stripe around everything that has an edge.
An the loss of fine detail and color.

This is my favorite mistake, a color tear.
How does it occur?

And not to forget that these people never change the default settings, i.e. all the errors I have shown and what is set by default in lightroom or camera raw, such as denoising, is trained into the models.
