Getting classic plugins to show up on Photoshop 2024

Greetings, installed legacy apps on an M2 Macbook Air with Photoshop 2024.

The standalone apps work well (very well compared to the Intel-based I had in 2019). However, it’s not showing up in Photoshop 2024 despite copying and pasting the plugin extension (for example: Topaz_Impression2.plugin) into Plug-ins folder of Photoshop 2024.

Any help would be appreciated.

I’m having similar issues. Did you ever get an answer?

Hi. The legacy apps no longer work as plug-ins with the latest versions of Photoshop basically Photoshop has moved on.

You’ll need a legacy version of Photoshop for them to work Photoshop CS6 for example, fortunately Adobe allows for multiple versions of Photoshop to be installed on your computer

Hope this helps

All the legacy apps work perfectly well as plug-ins to the latest version of Photoshop on my Windows PC. All of them.

They all work as plugins for PS 2024 on my desktop Mac, but not on my laptop (MacBook Air), so I don’t think your answer is accurate. I am still looking for a way to get Studio 2 to work on my laptop. DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI work as plugins in my laptop too.

Hi all,

I hope I’m not too late to this conversation.

The reason that the Topaz legacy plugins work on some computers and not on others is because of the processor.

If you are on an M-chip Mac, the plugins won’t show up unless you run Photoshop through Rosetta.

Hope that helps.

Mary
