I like how Impression, and indeed other painting applications, provide a way to convert a image into a painting in the style of known artists … but I like to have the original form and texture of the image so when I process I always add the original back in on top of the resulting painting at about 30-50% opacity to bring back that texture. Works well as it puts the original back in as the final layer rather than lowering the opacity of the effect …
