When I want to use frame interpolation and I double the frame rate I get a horrible ghosting effect, especially where the video has cuts to change scenes.
What is the best way to minimise this?

What exact models and settings have you tried?
But also, TVAI does not do scene detection, so they do blur together. When played at normal speed, I don’t notice it, so I really hope you are talking about something else.
Which model or models are you trying under the Frame Interpolation section? When adjusting frame rate for playback usually the recommendation is Chronos but going with a large increase in frame rates can increase the chances of blurring as the model creates more frames to fill in the gaps between original frames.
