I just upgraded from Photo Ai 3.4 to 4.0. I was hoping and expecting Super Focus to be improved. Using default seetings, 1st result is from 3.4 and 2nd is from 4.0. This is really bad, and now I am considering to downgrade back to 3.4 and get refund for the upgrade.
OK. So I figured out that in 3.4, I was using V1 of SuperFocus and in 4.0 was using V2. V2 is much faster, but the results are too distorted. I tried V1 drop-down in 4.0 and get identical results to 3.4. I will look at other features before deciding to revert back to 3.4 and refund.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like the issue isn’t related to missed focus, so Super Focus might not be the right tool for this scenario. Since you’re using Photoshop, I recommend sticking with Sharpen rather than Super Focus, as it’s better suited for refining details without introducing distortion. If you prefer, you can use V2 and layer the result on top of the original file, adjusting the opacity to fine-tune the effect.
Feel free to experiment with those options, and let us know if you need any further assistance! We appreciate your feedback, and we’re always working to improve the software.
Thank you, John. Sometimes I use Ai to sweeten the picture for large prints. I am not professional, just playing around. In 3.4 I did not realize Super Focus was only V1. All good here. Thank you for your email.
