In a pile of old photos that didn’t fit in the trash yet, I discovered the continuation of the story with the Redstart bird. The original (and a cutout from it) is really worth throwing away, but the AI called into service did (in my opinion) a miracle. Without the initial Nano Banana 2, nothing could have been achieved, but a strong prompt prohibiting mainly changes in positions, shapes, sizes, and directions of details, often created by the AI full of hallucinogens (LSD and the like), kept the image within the limits of acceptability. The details are very well improved, that’s really remarkable – it doesn’t seem artificial to me.
On the basis thus obtained, I then used Gigapixel with Wonder 3 (cloud), upscale 4x. After that, I couldn’t think of anything else. The result is here:
I’ve already sent the plans and a solid prompt to Claude Code. The panel is currently 50% functional.
But since I have a limited daily quota in free mode, it’s going to take some time to finish. It’s a fairly large project that requires quite a few tokens.
It’s not bad. There’s something odd about the beak and the strange insect inside; it makes for a curious mix. But considering the quality of the original source, the AI did a very good job. There’s always room for improvement with masks to refine just that part. But if you don’t zoom in on the image, it looks impeccable.
If you’re talking about the small black stand behind, it’s just a leaflet stand. But otherwise yes, he checks tickets and/or passes, whether printed or via the app. Two staff members behind me were doing it.
Here are two more photos of a super cute cockatoo. I don’t have the originals anymore, but I did an initial pass with Wonder 3. Then I used Gemini Nano-Banana 2 in 4K to remove the wire mesh. The craziest thing is that it even removed the shadows of the mesh on the bird. Finally, I applied Wonder 3 one last time to return to 8160x6120 (the resolution of the originals).
As always, nice pictures, portraits. There seems to be a small thing in the first one: The grid was removed well, but its shadow on the parrot remained. I think the shadow is not in the second photo.
Thank you. And yes, there’s still a little bit left. But it’s not a big deal because they’re subtle and in the blurred area of the image. Most of the shadows, especially on the head and beak, have been removed very well.
I’m hesitant to abandon the aspect ratio-based adjustment panel project if it differs from the image on the right, because it’s incredibly complicated to get it working across all platforms. In its current state, I have to configure it in the classic view and then again in the viewport. Otherwise, there’s a misalignment. The second problem occurs on smartphones. In landscape mode, there’s no problem, but in portrait mode, there’s a misalignment again. It’s as if the position values are no longer correct. I’ve been working on this problem for four days now, and still no solution.
With Sharpen Strong at 100% + Subtle Redefine with Prompt, you can work wonders to deblur the subject of the photo. I didn’t bother trying to deblur the rest. In a way, it adds movement to the image.
Well, I’ve discovered an interesting rule for myself: If the original image is perfect, then it’s easy to improve it using AI . But I’m still looking for a way to fulfill the conditional part of the rule…
Gemini Nano Banana has struck again .
This time, I also specified to remove the shadows from the wire mesh.
So the complete prompt was: “Remove the wire mesh and the shadows from the wire mesh”.
Yes, I had in mind a more detailed prompt like that. I usually manage to get what I want from Nano Banana eventually, sometimes it takes work and eats up credits.
