Perhaps an option to deselect all:
Even in the demo, Super Focus seems to be to enhance an object, though you can do all. As soon as you start to edit the selection, you’ll find that everything is selected.
Either the wording of “Focus boost” is wrong or I am:
When I look at this option and even read the description it makes me think it’s going to try harder to pull items into focus. However when I increase the levels, the preview box gets larger?
There is no undo:
This is the application in general, but given the amount of time this action takes, an undo, incase one mistakenly remove the enhancement. (along with no saving progress before render)
Status for selection progress:
I experienced using the difference selection brushes a delay between clicking and using, and then letting go. I know the later one is because an enhanced selection is given. I’m not sure why it happened on beginning of selection, maybe I was starting and stopping too quickly. In any case, a progress indicator or more visible one, say changing the mouse cursor.
The result seems noisy:
I’m testing with a raw file that is a little noisy, the program uses raw denoise automatically and the result is fine, it wasn’t that noisy. However the Super Focused subject seems to have noise that would possibly equal to the subject if they were originally in focus. A secondary denoise didn’t seem to help and introduced artifacts.
This is pretty sweet! I had thought that this was a bit possible with sharpen or gigga pixel but not on a selective level and not this well!

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We really appreciate your insights on the Super Focus feature.
-
Deselect All Option: Your suggestion to add a “deselect all” option is noted. This could be very useful for refining selections more easily.
-
“Focus Boost” Description: We understand the confusion with the wording. The “Focus Boost” option enhances the selected area, but it doesn’t necessarily pull items into focus the way one might expect. This feature is meant to be used on very blurry images. Focus boost corrects images that are missing detail by downscaling your image and then upscaling the results back to the original size.
-
Undo Function: We recognize the importance of an undo feature, especially given the time-consuming nature of rendering. We’ll pass this along as something to consider for future updates.
-
Status for Selection Progress: A more visible progress indicator, like a cursor change, could be a helpful addition to show real-time feedback.
-
Noisy Results: We’re aware that Super Focus can sometimes introduce noise, especially on noisy RAW files. We’ll continue working to improve how the tool handles noise alongside the focus enhancement.
We’re glad to hear you’re impressed with the results, and your feedback will definitely help us improve Photo AI even further
Thank you!
I trying some things on the latest version: 3.4.3
Focus is about the same, it is somewhat different when trying to bring more things into focus but still the preview box gets larger. I’m not sure this is the expected action.
The subject selection “thinks” all the time you do anything. The display will change to say enhanced after it thinks and says updating while you use it. If you go to add just a regular brush there is still a great pause while it thinks.
This is a longer standing one, not really about super focus but related: With the amount of time it will take to do selections currently, as well as processing, these programs really needs project files so one can continue work later, or setup jobs, and process later or on a different machine.
Thanks again.
