Is it really true that although the Sony RX100 Vii is five years old it is not possible to send photos back to lightroom as DNG files? Is the camera still not supported?
I get a 'DNG Write error

Hello,

This camera is supported in Photo AI. One thing that is not supported in Photo AI is the Sony lossless compression files Medium and Small (Large, Uncompressed, and Lossy Compressed RAW are supported)

Can you ensure that you don’t have this setting on your camera?

It opens the ARW files but cannot save them after editing, giving the error:

ARW to DNG
Error: DNG Write error

The camera itself only gives the description of its raw files as follows: “RAW images shot by the camera are recorded in the compressed RAW format”.
It does not say if they are Lossy Compressed (Which PhotoAI doesn’t support) or Lossless Compressed (which PhotoAI doesn’t support)

If your software doesn’t allow me to save into Lightroom after using raw edits then I will have to move to a software that does this such as DxO Pure Raw 4 which can do it.

A pity as Topaz has more to offer in editing - but if it can’t save the files afterwards it’s no use to me.

To use Photo AI you will have to make sure that in camera you go to your compression settings and change your compression setting:

  • Supported; Large, Uncompressed, and Lossy Compressed RAW
  • Not supported; Lossless compression files Medium and Small
  • This is mentionned in our Supported Camras and Format page.

Our development team can have a look if possible to add support for those compression settings, moved your post to the Ideas forum, for other users to be able to vote if it would help their workflow.
