Feature Request | Enable / Disable Recent File In Display During Startup

The sample photos at the right hand side are disturbed. Respected if it can be hidden.

It would be a useful option into app preferences
to enable/disable for hide/showing the corner of ā€œRecent Fileā€ right above.
or
when the program restarts should be cleaned the Recent File images,
so that the Recent Files are only shown for a working session, not again
after a restart of app.
because
when restart this app a other user, it might be too personaly to see wich
images another user has edited before.

Not realy user friendly to clean this ā€œRecent Fileā€ pictures every time after a session.

Thanks for the suggestion. We can prioritize this based on user demand as indicated by the number of votes this gets. I don’t disagree with you though, I just need to be able to justify the development effort.

I agree. Even without privacy concerns, showing up past images that most likely not related there are quite ugly and annoying. Please do consider remove this section or at least give us the option to turn it off.

Yes this is quite annoying since I sometimes use this software for personal uses and it would be nice if colleagues wouldn’t actually see this. While I know it can be reset, it’s easy to forget.

I just upgraded to Photo AI 3…

How do I remove ā€œsample imagesā€ in the Sidebar Navigation window?

Mac OS

Currently, it’s not possible to remove the Sample Images from the Right Panel in the latest version of Photo AI. However, we have added this suggestion to our Ideas list section on the Community Forums for future consideration.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’ll continue to explore ways to improve the user experience!

They should just disappear forever after being Closed. Opening the Settings to get rid of them is not ā€œintuitiveā€.

I find this annoying in the latest version (3.5) because I move the photos after editing, so now I get a ā€œfile not foundā€ error on startup.

I just deleted the sample images in the folder ā€˜/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Photo AI/Sample Images/’ and now it states every time the images are not found. So I just created the images back in this folder.
However I don’t want to open this images every time in my sidebar, where can I disable this useless feature?

Thanks Michael

Can you try opening Photo AI as a standalone application; then at the bottom of the application window you should see the following:

Select Hide sample images; after you do this, the sample images should no longer appear.

Additionally, you can go to Preferences > General , disable the option to Open demo images on startup , and then click Save .

Hello John

Thanks for reaching out.

I did what you said, disabled the sample in the settings and now it works without sample photos.

I usually just use the plugin and so I never saw the option Hide sample images.

Thanks and have a nice day

Cheers Michael

I’d vote for getting rid of the sample images as well as the tutorial buttons via the options menu. I don’t need them and they’re annoying.
I saw the post about turning off loading the sample images in the options menu, but I suspect that may be a feature in the Mac version, not Win11.

Why do I all of a sudden (since yesterday) do I have a ā€œview tutorialsā€ and ā€œsample imagesā€ on the right side of the application? This is NOT an improvement, it’s distracting and annoying and you have not provided a way to get rid of it. Stop messing around with issues that do not need improvement. And how do I get a previous version without this garbage on my screen?

Hi.

Here’s the link to the previous versions for both Windows and Mac

Windows
https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazPhotoAI/4.0.1/TopazPhotoAI-4.0.1.msi

Mac
https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazPhotoAI/4.0.1/TopazPhotoAI-4.0.1.pkg

Hope this helps

Nope, won’t work because when I opened the software yesterday I was still running v 4.0.0 and that ridiculous bar was already there, it wasn’t there on Saturday and I am the ONLY one that touches my computer.

Where does this need come from of changing things that need no change at all. I don’t have time to be hunting and pecking around to find things where they were before!
