The rectangles used for face recovery don’t really work. They often miss face elements, like nose tips, ears, necks, and more. They also overlap areas of the background, hairlines, and clothing, which I must manually correct. Wouldn’t it be better to allow me to paint in a selection, as with sharp and denoise? That way I can tell PhotoAI what I need to recover. I might, for instance, like to include hair (it does a great job with hair), necks, ears, and chests while avoiding backgrounds, clothing, etc.
I had similar idea to similar issue. I find the section box can miss the lower lips and chin of a face if on an angle. The face recovery can also be too much in either the eyes, the lips or the ears and not enough in other areas. It would be awesome to paint a mask of the elements of the face you want to enhance for that set subject. Because it varies from shot to shot depending on many conditions. But it would have to be quite smart to blend the skin from enhanced to not enhanced. I think it’s the features that matter more than the skin though. Saying that, back to the original issue. If the current box system does miss the lower portion of the face. It leaves an obvious line where one side is smooth, the other side as grainy as the original

With either version you can turn off Hair and Neck to create a smoother transition between the face and rest of the subject in addition, with the new version we have Wonder available and the new Wonder 3.5 arriving anyday and currently available in Gigapixel try to use Wonder first to clean the whole Image then apply Face Recovery 3
Not forgetting Topaz image Web which has every enhancement under the one app.

I have a sub to the two desktop apps, photo and gigapixel. Although i use photo more often, as i find it speedier. If i get a difficult case, i’ll fire up gigapixel to test some alternate methods. The switches for hair & neck are awesome. I love them. What i’m really saying is individual switches for eye, nose, ears, lips also. So you can really fine tune the image. Rather than have all those switches, i thought the masking approach might be better. It isn’t always the main features you don’t want to enhance, sometimes it can be smile marks or dimples that become extreme & over ageing. So it would be amazing to get that detailed select-ability. Example you could select just the left side of a face, because you want the right side to remain true to the original. Photography is a lot about control of these aspects and having fun with them
