Export aborts after Windows host hibernation

For any other software I use, in-progress processes will continue after hibernating my Windows host – for example a 3d animation rendering (blender). But if I have an export conversion in progress in VideoAI, it I have to restart the export upon power-up.

I don’t know if this is because ffmpeg aborts and Topaz VideoAI has no control over this, or if there’s something that can be done.

Because exports can take many hours on a longer video enhancement, this is quite a nuisance.

The workaround is that I can pause the export before hibernate and continue it after power-up. Perhaps that’s a clue?

You would need to change your system sleep settings to stay awake if you would like to continue processing an export with Video AI

you misunderstand…

i do not want to keep my system powered up. I actually want to hibernate, but hibernate seems to not properly freeze VideoAI like it does any other apps in progress, but instead causes the export to abort.

For example, if i have Blender calculating 3d animation physics like fluids, post-hibernate will pick up at the frame where it left off. Not so with VideoAI.

Unless you have TVAI running in a VM, I don’t think you’re going to get that ability within the next five years.

When Microsoft introduced sleep mode all those years ago, so many programs broke once sleep mode had happened. The same story repeated with hibernate. I still use several programs that I know I will have to restart the computer if sleep or hibernate happens. So, I avoid both like the plague.
