Hi Topaz team,
I would like to request a usability enhancement for any Topaz Photo model that currently allows scaling only through a multiplier such as 1.25x or 2x. This limitation is especially noticeable in the Wonder model, which is where I first experienced the issue, but the request applies to all models with the same restriction.
Feature request:
Please add the ability to enter exact target pixel dimensions, either width, height, or both, rather than relying solely on a scale multiplier.
Why this is needed
Many professional workflows require images to be exported at precise resolutions, including:
-
Client deliverables with strict size requirements
-
Print output that depends on exact pixel counts for DPI
-
Standardised dimensions across design, marketing, and web assets
-
Matching output sizes across a batch of images
Currently, if my source image is 7680 × 3840 and I need 10000 × 5000, I must manually calculate the scale factor (1.302x). This is slower, more prone to error, and interrupts the workflow.
Proposed improvement
Introduce a mode selection such as:
-
Scale Mode (the current behaviour)
-
Pixel Mode, where the user can enter:
-
Width (px)
-
Height (px)
-
An option to lock or unlock the aspect ratio
-
The software would automatically determine the correct proportional scaling.
Benefits
-
Faster and more intuitive workflow
-
Improved accuracy for output sizes
-
No need for manual calculations
-
More consistent results when processing batches of images
-
Better alignment with professional production requirements
This improvement would benefit all users who need precise output resolutions, not only those using Wonder.
Thank you for considering this request. I believe it would provide a significant quality of life improvement across the application.
